Kenneth Watson Obituary

Kenneth Watson born January 12, 1931, died after a long illness on September 2, 2012. His daughter Katrina Wynne was at his bedside when Ken went to meet his Lord. Ken is survived by his daughter Katrina Wynne and son Tobin Watson and his former wives Pat Taylor and June Powers. Ken grew up in Corpus Chrtisti and became a Marine Sargent and served in the Korean War. Ken played football for the Marines, for the University of Houston from where he graduated in 1956, and for semi-pro teams including the Houston Flyers for whom he also coached. Ken loved football, dancing with the ladies, and drinking with his friends. Ken could entertain his friends for hours with stories of his exploits. Ken had many friends and a great memory for names and events. Ken was called "Bulldog" by George W. Bush with whom he played basketball at the downtown Houston YMCA.
Ken will have a military funeral and will be buried at Veterans Memorial Cemetary, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, at 1 PM Tuesday, September 11, 2012. The service will be followed by a "Celebration of Life" by his friends at a nearby resturant to be named by Tobin Watson at the service.
