Lauretta,
I still miss you. Give Sally and Rita a hug for me.

I went to school with Lauretta when we lived in Huntington, NY. I lost track of her when we left New York in 1973. But, during the few years I knew her, I adored her. We went to the beach and played tennis and she was so much fun every time we were with her. . . . When I saw Joe Namath last week at the Super Bowl, it brought back an instant memory of Lauretta, her sister, Nanette, my sister, Marcia and me. Many years ago, Nanette drove the four of us to Hofstra University to watch the NY Jets practice in the pre-season. Joe signed autographs for us. . . . For the 2014 Superbowl, my sister and I put a small wager on the game. After the game, my sister and I chatted and I asked Marcia if she saw Joe Namath at the Super Bowl. She didn't so I was just sharing the photo of Broadway Joe with my sister and I was adding a "thank you" to Lauretta and Nanette for the opportunity to meet Joe. I was prompted to see if I could find Lauretta . . . and needless to say, I was shocked to discover she had passed away last May. Just wanted to share this special memory of the Piccione girls and to express my deepest sympathy to Lauretta's family. . . . I am so saddened that this beautiful and vibrant spirit is no longer with us.
