Lott Joseph Brooks, Jr. Lott Joseph Brooks, Jr. was born on November 15,1931 and passed in Houston, Texas on September 8,2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lott Joseph Sr. and Della Pointer Brooks and his only sister Ethel Fleming Arceneaux. In 2005, Gussie Laura Carson Brooks, his wife of over fifty years, preceded him in death.
Lott, Jr. was a proud graduate of Jack Yates Senior High School, Texas Southern University (B.S.) and Prairie View A. & M. University (M.S.). Lott, Jr. had a distinguished career as an Educator serving as a teacher in the Galena Park Independent School District; Supervisor of Vocational Education in the North Forest Independent School District and he retired as Director of Vocational Education from the Alief Independent School District. He also served as an adjunct professor at Prairie View A. & M. University.
Lott, Jr. is survived by his devoted wife, Aleice Goodson Brooks; five children; Lott Joseph Brooks,III and wife Denise; Gwethalyn Ann Brooks; Diane Denise Brooks; Reginald Anthony Brooks; Patrick Earl Brooks; and Step daughter Hope Elizabeth Goodson. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and a great grandson; one niece and a host of other loving relatives and friends
Viewing will begin at 9:30 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at St. Mary of the Purification Catholic Church, 3006 Rosedale, Houston, Texas, 77004.
