Bubba attended Strake Jesuit, graduated from Bellaire High School, and attended college at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he was celebrated as a brilliant soccer player and team member of the "UAB Blazers". He later returned to Houston where he continued to share his love of soccer by coaching, playing, and being involved in several different athletic organizations. In addition to his time spent on the soccer fields, he was an intricate part of his family's restaurant business because of his tremendous heart, gregarious personality, and bubbly spirit. Bubba was an incredibly strong, vibrant, boisterous, loyal, kind, and caring person who was adored by all who had the blessing of meeting him.
He is survived by his parents Michael & Charlotte Garcia, his older brother Michael Robert and wife Jill, his younger brother Michael Brian, grandmother Jennie Emmott Horton, nieces Stella Rae and Evelyn Andrea, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, many close friends, and his girlfriend, Elizabeth Renee Thomas.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Stella E. and Freddie S. Garcia, and uncle Robert B. Horton, of Houston.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 15, 2012 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 1801 Sage Rd, in Houston Texas, 77056. Services will begin at 12:30 pm with a gathering following in the Parish Life Center Hall next to the chapel at 1:30 pm.
