Nadine Julia Allison Andrews was the only child of Fred Earle Allison and Frances Carson Allison and was born in St. Louis, Missouri on July 2, 1916, and died September 20, 2012. Her family moved to "Heavenly Houston" in 1929, and to Trinity, Texas, a few years later. She attended Sam Houston State Teacher's College where she met Ralph Lowery Andrews. She said that she married him because he made her laugh. They were married for 61 years until his death in 1998, and there was a lot of laughter during those 61 years.

She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She loved golf, bridge, oil painting, and playing both the piano and organ. Most importantly, she loved being with her family and friends. She is survived by daughters, Julia A. Smith and husband, Pliny C. Smith M.D., of Houston, and Susan F. Andrews of North Richland Hills Texas, grandchildren, Pliny A. Smith of Lake Forest, Illinois and Anne A. Smith of Fort Worth, Texas, great grandchildren, Gillian and Jason Smith of Lake Forest, Illinois, her dear niece Carol Andrews, and many other Andrews nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Hampton, Post Oak for their interest in and care of Nadine for many years. Special thanks go to Ursula Murrel and Laverne Smith who have cared for Nadine in her last years, and to Dr. Robert E. Jackson who was so kind to her over many years. There will be a private family service for Nadine in Trinity Texas at a later date.
