Phillip Bittle Obituary
Phillip Vernon Bittle, Jr., 55, of Katy, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2013. He was born on January 10, 1958, in East St. Louis, Illinois. Phil worked in the grocery business since high school. He was a 19 year employee of H-E-B, where he served for the past six years as General Manager of the S. Fry and Grand Parkway location. Phil has always set a high standard for himself and others, and was recently inducted into the H-E-B Hall of Fame. He was a hardworking and fair minded manager and an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Phil was the most loving husband, father and friend. He married Lynne O'Hara in Galveston and together they shared a happy family life in Katy with their four children.
He is survived by his wife, Lynne Bittle; children, Madison Bittle of Katy, Matthew Green and longtime girlfriend Cassidy Craigen of Brenham, Ashley Williams and husband Holden of Huntsville, Phillip Matthew Bittle of Houston and his mother Debbie Bittle; precious granddaughter, Peyton Williams; his parents, Helen and Lindell Dane of Rosenberg; father, Phillip Bittle and his wife Marsha of Beaumont, California; siblings, Kim Thomas and her husband Scott of Springfield, Missouri, Brett Dane and wife Ceci of Rosenberg, and Bart Dane of Rosenberg; nieces and nephews, Andrew Thomas, Emily Dane, Jacob Dane and Cecily Dane; mother-in-law, Marie O'Hara; sister-in-law, Kim Prentice; brother-in-law, Mark O'Hara; as well as numerous other loving relatives and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Sheeba Thomas and the staff at M.D. Anderson for their care and support over the last five years.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 25, 2013, at the Kingsland Baptist Church, in Katy, where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 26, 2013, with Dr. John D. Lockhart officiating. Interment in Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
