Hello Merle,
I have never met you but I feel like I know you from the many discussions I was fortunate enough to have with Ray. Most conversations were related to adjusting but there were more than a few where he spoke of you . One conversation comes to mind when I was being a cry baby about paying my taxes when Ray said "in a way only Ray could pull off, with being extremely blundt and gruff but you knew he cared that "Robby you need to grow up and the day you do you will understand that being "RICH" has little to do with money!!"
Even knowing your Ray was ill, he never once mentioned any discomfort or pain and he offered his help to anyone who was serious about the industry. As Mike spoke of, there are thousands of adjusters new and old across the country whos lives were touched by Ray in one way or another.
I cannot ever fathom your pain right now, butI hope you know that your Ray was revered, respected and yes, even loved by many of us in the industry. I as an individual and the industry as a whole will miss your Ray dearly and he will NEVER be forgotten. I believe that the highest distinction a man can achieve is "service to others" You can log on to CADO and read the thousands of posts that your Ray wrote over the years. Those posts are archived and will never be erased.
I can imagine Ray up there with our maker explaining the FICUS tree and that makes me smile.
Merle you are in our prayers and I send you my sympathy

Mrs. Hall,
There are a bunch of us out here across the country who truly admired Ray. We are members of CADO (Catadjuster.org), who have as for the most part maybe never met Ray in person...but conversed with him over the phone or emailed, or chatted, or quarreled and debated insurance issues over the years. But it was always entertaining, because Ray could be a bit of a rascal as I'm sure you know. Anyway, I want you to know that there are hundreds, if not more, that know who Ray Hall was. All you have to do is log onto catadjuster.org, and the forums are full of his comments over the past several years. In fact I still have emails from Ray from maybe about 5 years back that I have never deleted from my history. Ray probably had more friends than one knows, and that...without even ever meeting them in person. What a gift, what a loss.

Merle, so sorry to hear about the lost of Ray. John Ray emailed me today that he had seen you at a Lamar reunion and that Ray was fighting cancer. It is hard to believe that you and I were working together some 40 years ago and so much of life has happened in that 40 years. Kyle and I both send you our best and will keep you in our prayers. John
