Remarize Flynt Obituary

REMARIZE LAFAYE COOPER ( Sissie, Jonnie, Nana) Mar. 19, 1924 - May 14, 2009 Remarize was born on March 19, 1924, to Virginia LaFaye Dyer and William Tyre Cooper in Los Angeles, California, same time as her beloved twin brother, Rex Lon Cooper. Sissie and Rex grew up in Waco, Texas and moved to College Station in 1939 where they graduated from A&M Consolidated High School. Sissie attended Texas State College for Women in Denton, Texas. She married Thomas Y. Flynt, Jr. on April 8, 1944. They were married for twenty years and had three children, Thomas Y. Flynt, III, Remarize Kay Flynt and Leslie LaFaye Flynt. Jonnie had many happy years in Waco and Houston. She was a member of 1st Baptist Church in Houston for over forty years and currently a member of West Houston Bible Church. She is survived by her three children, their spouses and her precious grandchildren, Julia Elizabeth Flynt, Peter Elliott Flynt of Houston, Texas and Emily Robinson Talbot of Santa Fe, NM. Jonnie's life was rich and full of her love for her Lord and Savior, and her dear, dear family and friends. The family is very grateful to the staff of Memorial Oaks, especially Debbie Graham, and the staff of A-Med Hospice. Also the Cooper Family, especially R.L. Jr. and dear friends Leticia Haines and Marie Stephenson who were faithful every step of the last eighteen months. A Celebration of her life with Dr. Robbie Dean officiating, will be held Saturday, May 23rd at 10:30 at West Houston Bible Church, 1500 W. Sam Houston Pkwy N (@ Haddington), Suite 104, Houston, TX 77043, 713-468-0900. In lieu of flowers donations to West Houston Bible Church Building Fund would be appreciated.
