ROSALIE D'ESTAING DEVILLENEUVE BURKHART, long time Houston resident, passed away peacefully in her sleep the night of July 28, 2014, being born 99 glorious years ago in Victoria, Texas.

Rosalie was an amazingly devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. It must also be noted that she was an amazing dancer. Rosalie fulfilled a childhood dream to become a dancer - Dancing and competing for 30 years until she was 90+ years old. She won four times undefeated The United States Pro/Amateur Champion Ballroom Dancer in both the American and International Style Dance.
Rosalie was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Burkhart, Jr.; and eight of her nine siblings. She is survived by her son, Guy Burkhart and wife Robyn; daughter, Patricia Oden and husband Jerry; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Thursday, July 31, 2014, at The Settegast-Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land (Williams Trace Exit). Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, August 1, 2014, at St. Martin's Episcopal Church, 717 Sage Rd., Houston. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
