Obituary Condolences

Ruth M. Beckman, passed away on August 10, 2011. She lived a quiet and happy life with enduring many lasting friendships in California, New Mexico and Texas. Ruth was born in Pueblo, Colorado in 1915, grew up in Denver and settled into marriage in Los Angeles during WWII to Orval Beckman before he served overseas. They were married for 59 years, living in the west until their grandchildren in Texas brought them to Houston, to be near their son and daughter-in-law. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Orval. She is survived by her son Kenneth Beckman and wife Francie; her grandchildren, William and Rachael, who brought Ruth much love and joy. Ruth lived a long and happy life, enjoying friends and neighbors that she blessed with her warm, kind and generous personality; as well as her sharp wit. Celebrating her life, which certainly knew hardships, her artwork, always understated, and her love of small animals of all types, sizes and shapes were both joyful and sad. She will be deeply missed by her family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Houston Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals would be a fitting way to remember Ruth.
