Not sure what to say?

My big brother Sheldon, my idol

Remembering him racing down the street on the skateboard he made from old roller skates

Playing his drums

Putting firecrackers in the telephone poles

Bringing home fish he caught in Carmel River

Calling our Mother Ma

Always upbeat, smiling and kind to his pesty little sisters

There is so much more - Oh, how I loved him.

Dear Lynette,

I know how much your dear dad meant to you. You were such a wonderful daughter to him, such a great caregiver. I wish you peace and solace in this time and know that you are not alone in missing your dad, such a wonderful guy, such a sweet, sweet man.

Dear Lynette, Bonnie, Sheldon, and family . . .
So saddened to hear of losing our wonderful Hawk. I was in Hawaii, and my cell was garbling messages. The Tribute to him on the website is wonderful! Since Dave left, Hawk has faithfully called me and we had precious chats. We always ended with prayer. We know he entered the Heavenly Paradise with the Lord! Sorry that we missed the Memorial, but hope we can have one together one day. My sympathy and may God comfort and hold you.
Much love and hugs, Aunt Donna "Dee" PonTell

Would that everyone could grow old as gracefully as your father. He was such a charming and handsome man, even at 90, and you made a great pair. I was always delighted to see him at La Mora and was so glad he followed right along to Giacomo. My favorite recent memory is one day when you asked him if he wanted a glass of wine with lunch and he said something like "What do you think?" He was a treasure, as are you. Sincerest sympathy to you and your family, Lynette, and lots of love. Ann Criswell.

I met Hawk in the Nomads booth at the OTC just after he retired from Ideco. We struck up a friendship, and he started a short new career at Venturetech for about a year. Times were bad, but Hawk sold us a very big order of drilling machinery for the north slope of Alaska. He still enjoyed working and would have been glad to stay on, but Dell came down with MS so he went home to take care of her. He cared for her full time until she passed away many years later. That was obviously a very difficult life, but you’d never know it talking to him. He not only never complained, he always had a great attitude, smiled and laughed a lot, and enjoyed life. He was a fine example of how a man should live life, and I’m proud to have been one of his friends. God bless you, Hawk.

Lynette,
I know you are missing your daddy. Your love for each other was so beautiful; a rich example of what family aspires to be. I will always remember the short time I spent with Hawk at Bea's 80th birthday party. He was such a spirited man! May God bless and comfort all who loved Hawk.
Love,

Dear Lynette,

Pippin, Ramsey, Grey Grey, Bobbie and all of my little pets that shared your front porch with Hawk will miss his cheery wave and gentle spirit. I know that his beloved little dog who preceded him is with him now.

All of us on Portland Street will miss seeing Hawk taking his daily turn in the fresh air.

God be with you and your family in the coming days.

Lynette, what an awesome video! I admire you for all you did for your dad, but now that I have read the incredible obituary, I realize that you were just a reflection of his love and tenderness. He reminds me so much of my dad. Please know that I will be with you in spirit tomorrow, but cannot take off work to be there. Please let me know when we can spend some time together soon. With love, Linda

Hawk and I met 53 years ago while installing drilling rigs in the Algerian Sahara and have remained friends since that day. He cherished his family and was a true friend to everyone priviledged to know him.
