Victor R. Blaine, born December 18, 1927 in Vance, MS to Leila May and B. L. Blaine, attended Darling MS School. Victor attended the Univ. of Mississippi before joining the 1st Calv. Div. of the US Army serving in occupation forces in Japan. Upon return, he reentered the Univ. of MS, earned his Doctorate of Law and was a lifetime member of the Delta Psi Chpt. of ATO.

In 1952, Victor took the Texas Bar exam and began practicing law in Houston, TX in '56. In '58 he focused on Criminal Defense-his passion, and practiced for 57 years. Victor held memberships in the TX Trial Lawyers, the Harris Cty Criminal Lawyers, the National Assoc. of Defense Lawyers in Criminal Cases plus the American Bar and others. He was licensed to practice law in MS, TX and the US Supreme Crt.
Victor was awarded for 50 years of service in the State Bar of TX and in '02 he received the Harris Cty Criminal Lawyers Assoc. Lifetime Achievement award. In '10, the Univ. of MS presented Victor the Legal Legacy medal for 50 years of law practice.
Victor is survived by Fama, his wife of 61 years and his children, Leslie Bogar, husband Edward; Lee Blaine, wife Kimberley. Victor leaves behind five grandchildren; Jessica, Blaine and Daniel Bogar; Travis and Houston Blaine. Victor's family will miss him dearly.
