Walter Earl Plaster

WALTER EARL PLASTER "BUBBA" Walter Earl Plaster passed away of natural causes on September 10, 2008 in Houston at age 83. Bubba was born on June 26, 1925 in Troy, Texas. He spent his entire life in Houston, having grown up in Park Terrace and Park Place. Bubba attended Park Place Elementary, Deady Junior High and graduated from Milby Senior High in 1943. Bubba worked the first half of his life for his father, W. A. Plaster, in transportation services, construction and property management. He later served in the Houston Police Department and Methodist Hospital. He served his country during World War II in the U. S. Navy. He thoroughly enjoyed piloting cross-country as a member of the Civil Air Patrol, and was an avid water skier and boater. Bubba was predeceased by his parents, Walter Aden Plaster and Helen Mae Plaster. He leaves behind two sisters, Colleen Lott, and Bernice and her husband J. C. Gracey, both of Tomball; his brother Jerald Plaster and wife Joyce, of Houston; his former wife, Laverne Plaster of Houston; his children, Michael Walter Plaster and his wife Adrian of Austin and Lisa Eileen Thomas and her husband Robert of Houston; grandchildren, Hayley Scotti and husband Chris of College Station and Michael Plaster, Jr. of Austin and Santa Fe, NM, Dustin Thomas at Kadena Air Force Base, Okinawa and wife Meghan, Ryan Thomas of Houston and wife Katie, and great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 11:00am on November 22, 2008 Saint Stephens United Methodist Church, 2003 West 43rd Street, Houston. Bubba donated his body to Baylor College of Medicine, and his ashes will be interred at a later date at Houston National Cemetery in Houston. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Bubba's name to Saint Stephens United Methodist Church in appreciation of their help and support. We miss you, Dad!
