WILLIAM H. BRICKER (Bill) was born January 29, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan and died Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at the age of 74. His parents were Florence and Wilford Bricker. Bill grew up on the family farm in Hart, Michigan with his sister, Sally and two brothers, James and Bob. He graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture and a Masters Degree in Horticulture. Bill Bricker is the retired Chairman and C.E.O. of Diamond Shamrock Corporation. Mr. Bricker joined Diamond Shamrock Chemicals Company, a division of Diamond Shamrock Corporation, in 1969 as Vice President and General Manager of the Biochemical Division. He was elected President of the Chemical division and a Vice President of Diamond Shamrock Corporation in 1972. He was named Chief Operating Officer of the corporation in 1974; elected Chief Executive Officer in 1976; assumed the post of Chairman of the Board in 1979. Mr. Bricker retired in May 1987. Mr. Bricker was also the interim Chairman & CEO of LTV Steel, and interim President & CEO of Altos Hornos de Mexico, S.A. de C.V. (AHMSA), Mexico's largest steel Producer. Most recently, he served as Chairman of Mid Atlantic Homes, and Mid-Atlantic Enterprises US companies that are building housing and schools in Northern Iraq. He is survived by his wife of almost 51 years, Doris Bricker; daughter, Susan Vujovich; sons, Jeff, Thomas and Patrick. Bill Bricker especially adored his grandchildren, Alexa, Jonathan, Sarah, and Daniel. Mr. Bricker was looking forward to the April arrival of his newest grandchild William Liu. Bill Bricker will be remembered as a devoted family man and a true friend to all who knew him. He was a man of great stature, decency, heart, generosity and love. His greatest gift was his love and appreciation of life and the people around him. He will be deeply missed. Rosary will be Sunday, March 12th at 6:30 PM and visitation with the family will follow between 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 10 AM on Monday March 13th at Christ The King Church in Dallas, TX.
