ANN ERVIN BOLTON BALL, 64, of Houston, Texas, passed away on June 8, 2008, in Houston, from a heart attack. Born on May 13, 1944, the daughter of Ora Louise and Julian Bolton, she was a member of the Jacksonville High School class of 1962, a graduate of the University of Houston, and a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi. A prolific writer, she authored numerous books on saints and Catholic history and culture; she was also a teacher in parochial schools, a private investigator, owner of All State Guard Service since 1992, and a member of the Associated Security Services and Investigators of the State of Texas. Ann was a beloved figure in Catholic literary circles and touched lives wherever her life journeys took her. She is survived by: her daughter, Joanna Ball, of Houston, TX; son, Sam (& wife, Danielle) Ball, Houston, TX; Raul Quintero of Monterey, Mexico; brother, Charles "Chuck" Bolton, Miami, FL; sister, Julie (& Terry) Bolton Douglas-Smith, Dallas, TX; nephew, Brett (& Linda) Douglas, Keller, TX; niece, Julianne (& Curtis) Douglas Sanford, Jacksonville, TX; grandchildren Austin Wilken, Max, Victoria, Brenden, Christian, Karolyn & Katharyn Ball, Houston, TX; Michael Quintero of Georgia; great nieces, Courtney (& Joe) Sanford Foster, Montgomery, TX; Jaci and Calee Sanford, Jacksonville, TX; Courtney Harper, Bullard, TX; Christi, Erin, and Lauryn Bell, Keller, TX; great nephews Jeremy Sanford, Jacksonville, TX and Dalton Douglas, Bullard, TX. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 14, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 9900 Stella Link Rd., Houston, TX.
