James Anderson Obituary
James Weldon "Jack" Anderson, born March 13, 1925 to Tilden and Clara Anderson in San Antonio, Texas, passed away March 17, 2012 in Bellaire, Texas. Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Dorothy Sagebiel, and brother, Thomas Anderson. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Ruth Anderson; children, Catherine Pett and husband, Richard, June Gonzales and husband, David, Betty Jones and husband, Steven, Jim Anderson and wife, Dawn, and Helen Watson and husband, Carl; eleven grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and many other family and friends.
Mr. Anderson served his country proudly in the Marines during WWII and the Korean War. He was a longtime faithful member of Faith Lutheran Church, serving as President of the Congregation in 1962, and in many other capacities. Jack worked his entire career for Exxon, taking his family overseas on assignments to Tripoli, Libya for seven years, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for three years.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Faith Lutheran Church, 4600 Bellaire Blvd., Bellaire, Texas 77401, where the funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012 in OK and TK Rea Cemetery, Pottsville, Texas.
