Rose Marie (Raab)
Badough went to be with our Lord on Saturday, January 11, 2014, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Rose Marie was born on December 24, 1938 in Victoria, TX to the late Otto and Victoria (Morris) Raab. She graduated from Patti Welder High School in Victoria. She received a Bachelor's of Arts from Incarnate Word College in San Antonio and a Master's of Science from East Texas State University. She was a teacher in Richardson ISD, Garland ISD and at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. She later became a librarian for Garland ISD and retired from there after many years. Throughout her life she was active in many roles, including publishing a book, assisting in various libraries throughout the city, serving in many Catholic ministries and the National Republican Party, to name a few. She married the late Kenneth Badough on September 5, 1960 in Victoria, TX. She became heavily involved at Good Shepherd Catholic Church after her husband was ordained as a Deacon in 1987.
Rose Marie is survived by two sons, Donald L. and wife Belle of Houston, and Daniel L and wife Jaimie of McKinney, sister Agnes Howard of Victoria, grandchildren Erin Badough of Houston, Ashlee Salo of Peoria, AZ, and Ryan, Alexandra and Katherine Badough of McKinney, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth and daughter Michelle.
A rosary and visitation will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Garland at 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 16, 2014. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Garland at 10:00 am on Friday, January 17, 2014. Interment will follow at Sacred Heard Cemetery in Rowlett.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Michelle Badough-Metts Scholarship Fund. This scholarship was set up in Michelle's name by Rose for people pursuing a career as a librarian from Garland after her untimely death.
