Stephen G. Germick flew home to heaven on Feburary 7, 2014, to be with his Savior and his beloved wife Rose, of 61 years, who preceded him in death. Steve lived a full life for 97 years, born December 14, 1916, in Swoyersville, Pennsylvania to Anna and Joseph Germick. He was predeceased by brothers: Joseph, George, Daniel, Willard, and Elmer. He is survived by his sister Rita Bruggermann and his many nieces and nephews. He was a graduate of Kutztown University of Penn State. During WWII, he received all pilot licenses from Bucknell University. After graduation, he became an Air Force flight instructor. Later he became a test pilot for Grumman Aircraft flying Navy fighters. After the war, he spent three years with Pan American as a pilot, then four years as a pilot for the Brooklyn Dodgers. He retired after 25 years of piloting and managing Texaco's flight department in Houston. Steve and Rose were charter members of Champions Golf Club and played golf often there with friends. He will be missed by his family, many friends, and his dear caregivers. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date at Champions.
