Margie Allen Obituary
Margie Bean Allen Passed away Monday, February 10, 2014, at the age of 95 in Conroe Texas. She was born on April 13, 1918 in San Antonito, Texas to Frank Roy and Maggie Lou Barnes. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 pm at Cashner Funeral Home. Services will be held Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 10:00 am in Cashner Colonial Chapel followed with burial at Forrest Park, Lawndale in Houston at 2:30 pm, with Pastor Merle Blado officiating. She was married to her late husband Herbert Lester "Les" Allen in 1936 and they moved to Houston in 1938, where they made their home. She is survived by her sons Frank L. Allen and wife Sandra "Nell" and Roy L. Allen of Conroe, sister Virginia Miller of San Antonio, 6 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 20 great great grandchildren and numerous cousins nieces and nephews. Margie followed in her father's footsteps as a master machinist and was later bookkeeper for the family business, Allen Tiling Service of South Houston. She was a Volunteer O. E. S. Craft Department of U.T./M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, a member of Order of Eastern Star Houston-Ransford Chapter 135 (Past Matron) with a Certificate of proficiency, Order of Eastern Star Almeda Chapter 1081, Daughters of the Nile Chapter 88, Melrose Chapter 81 Social Order of the Beauceant and Cross of Texas Shrine Chapter 1, She was the Holder of Grand Cross of Colors, Order of the Rainbow Girls. She was a member of the Ruth class at West University Baptist Church. After she moved into the Carriage Inn in Conroe in 2006, she was a member of the Debra Class at First Baptist Church, Conroe. The family would like to give their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Berwick and his staff, the Doctors and entire staff of Conroe Regional Medical Center, Sections, 1North and 4 South, for their loving care and devotion for their care of Mother during her final months of failing health.
