Emma Bravo Obituary
Emma Marie Bravo, age 18, passed away on February 22, 2014, in Houston, Texas.
Emma was a student at Rice University studying Chemistry and Biology as well as Latin American Studies. She was a singer in the Organization of American Kodaly Educators National Choir, and a member of the National Honor Society, and the Spanish National Honor Society. She graduated from Memorial High School as a National Merit Commended Scholar and a National Hispanic Scholar.
Emma is survived by her grandparents, Rex and Mary Smuts; her parents, Dr. Cesar and Robin Bravo; her siblings, Jennifer, Nicole, and Gabriel Bravo; and her aunts and uncles Jerry and Alice Blackburn, Rick and Leslie Smuts, David Smuts, Tom Smuts, Dr. Rolando and Claudina Bravo, and Max and Hilda Bravo.
Family and friends will gather for a visitation at Waltrip Funeral Directors on Wednesday, February 26, from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.
A celebration of Emma's life will be held at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church, 11612 Memorial Drive, at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2014, with a reception following at the church.
For those who wish to honor Emma's memory, we ask that donations be made to Covenant House or Citizens for Animal Protection.
