Obituary Condolences

Ronald D. Lee passed away April 28, 2014 at St. Luke's Hospital in the Medical Center. Ron was born February 13, 1933 in Houston to the late Lawrence and Clarice Lee. He attended St. Anne's Catholic School and graduated from St. Thomas High School and went on to attend Texas A & M. Ron graduated from the University of Houston as a distinguished military student. He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged with the rank of Captain. Ron worked for Tennessee Life Insurance and Philadelphia Life Insurance for 28 years. He was a member of numerous organizations and served as President of Kyle Chapman Pony and Colt League, Mayor of Hunter's Creek Village and was very active in the Missouri City Community. Ron helped to develop the Houston Community College Campus in Missouri City. He served on the Board of Adjustments, Chairman of Planning and Zoning and was on numerous TIRZ Boards. He was also a member of the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Association.
Ron's survivors include his wife, Gwendolyn J. Blackman Lee; daughter, Deborah Veselka and her husband, David; son, Ronald D. Lee, Jr. and his wife, Kim; "PaPa" to grandchildren, Crystal Lee, Shelby Schiller and husband, Drew, Nick Veselka and Cody Lee.
The family would like to thank Dr. James Willerson and his team at the Texas Heart Institute for their care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ron's name to the Texas Heart Institute at St. Luke's Hospital or Citizens for Animal Protection.
The family will receive guests from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 3, 2014 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Interment with military honors will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg.
