Sarah Hogue Obituary
Sarah Kay (Ladd) Hogue of Houston, Texas died peacefully in her home surrounded by family on May 31, 2014 at 9:17pm after a brave fight with pancreatic cancer. She was born in Olney, Texas on January 28, 1954 and lived her life in the Houston area. She has been perfectly healed, and is now with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, dancing and singing His praises in Heaven.
Sarah leaves an impressive legacy of faith, family, and community. Saved by God's grace at an early age, Sarah lived her life in service to her Lord, and was actively an example of His love for others. Raised in the Heights, and attending Baptist Temple, where her father was the pastor, she was involved in numerous church activities. She married her high school sweetheart, Bill, whom she met at church, and they attended Waltrip Senior High School. She placed a very high value on raising her two daughters, and was actively involved in supporting them and their activities. She served and volunteered for many years in the children's, youth and music departments at Champion Forest Baptist Church. She has served as the Vice President of Moss Seal Company for many years, and her generosity and kindness led to her being known as the company's "mom."
Sarah was preceded in death by her mother, Hazel Beatrice Ladd of Tomball; her sister in law, Elizabeth Hogue, of Austin; and her brother in law, Mike Walker, of League City. She is survived by her devoted husband of 38 years, William Guy Hogue III; her adoring daughters, Alice Kay and Ashley Stover; her admiring sons in law, Michael Kay Jr. and Zachary Stover; and her fun-loving grandchildren, Annabelle, Wyatt, Sadie, Haven, Hazel, Elijah, and a granddaughter on the way, Poppy. Sarah is also survived by her father, Roy Elmer Ladd, and her stepmother, June Ladd; her brother, Gerald Ladd and his wife, Rita; her sister, Doris Walker; her loving in-laws, William Guy Hogue Jr. and Ethel Hogue, Doug and Sandra Carruth, Dale and Sharon Luedtke, Mark and Patricia Hogue; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, June 9, 2014 in the chapel at Champion Forest Baptist Church, 15555 Stuebner Airline Rd., Houston, Texas 77069. A reception with the family will be held at the church immediately after the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to MD Anderson Pancreatic Cancer Research, at The University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center, P.O. Box 4486, Houston, Texas 77210-4486; or the charitable organization of your choice.
