Leelan David Bowen passed away on June 4, 2014 in Katy, Texas at the age of 68. David was born on September 23, 1945 to Floyd Lee and Ruth Bowen. David graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in Houston, Texas in 1964 and later went on to graduate from Abilene Christian College. David also proudly served in the United States Air Force and served during the Vietnam Era.
He was an avid collector of antiques, toys, marbles and trains and was a gifted musician.
David is survived by his wife of 30 years, Josie Bowen; sisters Ruth Ann Hail and husband Bob, Peggy Ellen Cox and husband Gene and Carlyn Anita White and husband Jere; brother Floyd Glenn Bowen and several nieces, nephews and many more loving friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents.
David's visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2014, at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel, in Katy, where his funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, 2014 with Daniel Schramm officiating.
