Wanda Katherine Taylor Snell, born August 21, 1923 in Cooper, Texas to Calvin and Opal Taylor passed away at Methodist Hospital with her beloved family encircled around her on Saturday, June 7, 2014. Wanda is survived by her "roommate", her precious husband, Barney Snell. They celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary on February 14, 2014. Wanda is also survived by her sister, Betty Jo Shields; children, Cheryl Campbell and son-in-law Robert, Cathy Madden and son-in-law Wally, Barney Snell, Jr. and daughter-in-law Terri; grandchildren, Alisha Triana and husband Andrew, Christopher Campbell; Kimberly McClintic and husband Jack; Michael Madden, Courtney McCurley and husband Mike, Nathan Madden, Cody Snell and wife Mandy, Joshua Snell, Kennedy Snell; great-grandchildren, Andrew Campbell, Kailyn Campbell, Jonathan Nichols, Jacob Nichols, Kyler McCurley, Karter McCurley, Anabella Triana, Ethan Snell; as well as cousins, nieces, extended family and dear friends. Wanda earned her nursing license in the 1940's and worked at St. Joseph's Hospital in Houston. She was a rule breaker for her patients and drove the nuns crazy. Wanda fiercely loved her Lord, her family and adored her husband, her best friend. Friends are welcome to join the family for visitation after 10 a.m. until service time on Tuesday. Funeral services for Wanda will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2014 in the chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Rev. James Goforth to officiate. Graveside services will immediately follow at Hollywood Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
