Irene Alma Marie Meyer Heine, went to her Heavenly home on June 9, 2014 to be with her Lord and her awaiting and loving husband, Clinton Heine, Sr. She was born on July 24, 1925 in Cypress, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry W. and Alma Kalbow Meyer and husband of 56 years, Clinton Heine, Sr.
Irene was baptized on August 30, 1925 at Neudorf Lutheran Church in Cypress, Texas and was confirmed on April 10, 1938 at Messiah Lutheran Church by Pastor Froehlich in Houston, Texas. She was a faithful member of Messiah Lutheran Church, where she served on the Altar Guild, other committees and also sang in the church choir.
Irene worked in the banking industry at Houston National Bank during World War II and retired in 1982 from First Interstate Bank after 25 years of service.
She is survived by her sons, Clinton Heine, Jr. and wife Carolyn, Darryl W. Heine and wife Karen; grandchildren, David Heine and wife Sheri and Cheryl Mangels and husband Jason; great-grandchildren, Sophie and Lillie Heine and Jessica, Jason Cale and Jeremy Cord Mangels; step grandchildren, Tiffany and Rachel McCord; step great-grandchildren, Riley, Shelby and Garrett Borchgardt and Kaylee and Addylyn Jamail; sisters, Della Allen, Gladys Juergen and Evelyn Kleb and husband Wallace and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
Pallbearers will be James Anderson, John Anderson, Steven Kleb, Lee Kleb, Kevin Juergen, Karl Juergen, Leonard Wolff, David Heine and Jason Mangels.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be Friday, June 13, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, 1101 Antoine Drive, Houston, Texas 77055. The Celebration of Irene's Life will be Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, 816 Roy Street, Houston, Texas 77007. Pastor Richard Schuller will officiate the services. Following an escorted cortege, Irene will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Garden of Memories beside her beloved Clinton.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial be given in Irene Heine's name to Messiah Lutheran Church, 816 Roy St., Houston, TX 77007, Houston Lutheran Corale, P.O. Box 2107, Houston, TX 77252-2107 or Hospice Brazos Valley, 1600 Joseph Dr., Bryan, TX 77802.
