Jean Fore Obituary
Jean W. Fore Jean W. Fore passed away on Thursday, the 19th of June 2014, in Houston, following a long illness.
Jean was born in Galveston but at the age of three her family moved to Houston. As a young girl, Jean enjoyed performing and continued enjoying music her whole life. While attending Stephen F. Austin High School, she served as the Colonel of their Scottish Brigade. After high school she worked at Gulf Oil, where she met Emmett Fore through a mutual friend. Jean and Emmett were married for 43 years until his death. Together they had six children. When the kids were older, Jean went to work for Transco from where she later retired. After retirement she enjoyed international traveling with friends.
She is survived by her children Susan, Carole and husband John, Diane, Chip and Patti; her grandkids Jeffrey, Mandy and James; her sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Jean was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Margaret Winner, husband Emmett, son Daniel and grandson Steven.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the caring attendants of Atria Westchase Assisted Living Facility and Holly Hall Nursing Home for their care and compassion.
Yesterday morning, Saturday, the 21st of June, family and friends gathered for a Rite of Committal at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 2242 W. Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX 77030, or at alzfdn.org
She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by both family and friends.
