Stephen Moylan Dolen passed away on June 16, 2014 at the age of 87. He was born on September 30, 1926 in Dallas, Texas to Stephen Moylan Bird Dolen and Walter Bland Dolen. He died from kidney failure caused by vasculitis, diagnosed in 2008.

He was predeceased by his parents, uncle, Massie Dolen, aunts, Louise Dolen and Frankye Stansfield, and sister, Vanessa Wilburn.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Roxanne, his children, Cynthia Dolen and husband Jay Feld, Bruce Dolen and wife Pat, niece, Karen Wilburn, and great-nieces, Courtney and Shannon Rose Brown.
Steve was reared in Jefferson, Texas by his mother, Walter, after she left Houston in 1933 with her two young children. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy while a senior in high school and served from 1943-1946. He earned the rank of signal man and was deployed to the Pacific Theatre.
Steve moved to Houston in 1946 and worked as a teller for First City National Bank. He began selling paper in 1950, started his own company, and continued to work for Stewart's Paper till his final days. Steve had the gift of gab and was seldom encountered without a cup of coffee in hand and a joke to tell.
A memorial service is to be conducted at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 28th, at Christ Church Cathedral, 1117 Texas Avenue in Houston, Texas. Immediately after, all are invited to greet the family.
