Josephine left Sicily as a young girl and immigrated to the United States with her family. The LoCascio family landed in Galveston, TX in 1907. Josephine and her family lived in Dickinson on a farm. As a young girl she not only helped out in the family home but also in their grocery store. She married Anthony T. Mrs. LoCascio was a devout, active Catholic and longtime member of Annunciation Catholic Church and Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Josephine could usually be found in the kitchen cooking her signature chicken soup or her pasta dishes. Her fried chicken was one of the family's favorites. She made an incredible German chocolate cake, and of course, Italian sausage. In her quiet way she always took great care of her family. She loved spending time in Galveston and San Leon enjoying the beach and surf. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
