My heartflag hangs at half-mast, very sorry to learn of his passing. Mr Jeter was a teacher of mine while attending Wittenberg University. I enjoyed many technical theatre classes with him which led to a career in that field.
I unexpectedly received a box from him a few years ago that was his scenic painting brushes - I treasure them dearly. He was a wonderful mentor and my life was greatly enriched for knowing him.

I am so sad to hear of Richards passing. While its been a few years since we last spoke I can still hear his warm and welcoming greeting, always with a smile. He was and continues to be a huge influence on my career. During my time in Houston he was always supportive as a friend and colleague and will always hold a place in my heart for all he did for me.

I'm so sorry to hear of Richard Jeter's passing. He was my drama coach back in the sixties at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School. His dream back then was to go to Yale Drama School. How wonderful to see that he attained that goal.
My best wishes to his family and friends.

Richard was a friend of long standing and an associate in the Houston IES. It saddens me to loose such an outstanding lighting designer and friend.
