ROBERT CARLYLE "Rob" WADDELL of Richmond, TX passed away suddenly in his home on June 16, 2007. He was born on August 28, 1943 in Chicago Ill and moved to the Houston area earlier in his life. He attended Peacock Military Academy in San Antonio; Woodberry Forest School in Orange, VA and graduated from Spring Branch High School in 1962. Following his graduation he attended Tyler Junior College. Rob began his aviation career in 1975 after spending 13 successful years in the broadcasting industry. Having been a licensed pilot since 1965, he formed Aviation Concepts, Inc., and for the next 16 years was involved in aircraft charter, sales, contract flight department management and aircraft appraisals. Some of his exclusive charter clientele included Coca Cola USA, ARAMCO, Valero, Dow Chemical, Baker International, as well as Continental Airlines worldwide routes and United Airlines Southern district for emergency parts distribution. In 1991 Rob decided to devote the majority of his attention to the appraisal side of the business and later became one of the first Senior Certified Aircraft Appraisers for the National Aircraft Appraisers Association. In 1997 he formed the Society of Independent Aircraft Appraisers (SIAA). During this time he also created a message on hold service called Marketrax. Being an audio production and nationally acclaimed radio and TV voice talent, he provided commercial voiceovers and community broadcasting sales and services. Rob became a legal expert witness for leading law firms around the country and also an accomplished aircraft photographer. He was predeceased by his father Robert Osborn Waddell and survived by his loving Mother, Betty Ann Waddell; daughter, Michele Waddell Weigel and husband Garry; daughter, Deborah Waddell Brunnmeier; grandchildren, Gregory, Rachel, and Richard Weigel, Jessica Brunnmeier; sister, Susan Waddell Roberts; nephews, Matt Roberts and wife, Lane, Douglas Roberts and wife, Lisa; niece, Missy Roberts Bell and husband, Maury; dear friend, Diann Waddell Fiore and mother of his daughters; cousins, Betty Womeldorf Druary, Bill Waddell, Julia Waddell Beall, Helen Waddell Pecori and many treasured friends. Rob was loved by all and will be dearly missed. There will be a private memorial service for the family at Forest Park Lawndale where he will be laid to rest. Please join family and friends for a reception in celebration of Rob's life at Lakeside Country Club, 100 Wilcrest Drive on Saturday, June 30, 2007 from 4:00 to 6:00pm. In lieu of flowers those who wish may contribute to the American Lung and Heart Association or to the charity of their choice.
