ROBERT SEELE RUPLEY, "BOB passed away September 26, 2009 at Memorial City Hospital surrounded by loving family members.Bob was born to Ralph Sr. and Mildred Rupley, in Houston, Texas, on April 11, 1928. Bob attended Shriner Institute in Kerrville, graduated from Kincaid School, and attended the University of Houston. Bob received a Bronze Star for his service in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. A communications specialist, he continued in civilian life as a ham radio enthusiast, call letters K5BQC. Bob was a furrier for most of his life in the family business, Ralph Rupley Furs, of Houston, where he was a friend to all who met him. He continued that business in the 80's and 90's as Rupley Furs. After retirement he stayed active and worked for the SBISD. All friends and acquaintances knew him as an enthralling storyteller, and phenomenal listener.He enjoyed years of sailing and RV travel with his family. Bob was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ralph Jr., and son-in-law Barry Kile.Bob is survived by his beloved wife Jacqueline Clark Rupley, son Robert Foster Rupley and wife Maricela, son William LeFevre Rupley, daughter Laura Pharr Kile, son Paul Clark and wife Yi'Ou Chen, daughter Wendy Clark and husband M. Fernando Marroquin, and son Ryan Clark and wife Rebecca. Bob was grandfather to six: Robert Scott Rupley and wife Susan, Christopher R. Rupley, Laura Catherine Gibson, Matthew Kile, Melissa B. Rupley, Fernando M. Marroquin, and Cameron P. Clark. Bob was great-grandfather to Robert Aiden Rupley.He is also survived by sister Betty Rupley Allen and her husband James B. Allen of Lake Jackson, their children and grandchildren, and sister-in-law Rae Rupley of Fredericksburg, their children and grandchildren, as well as many other loving relatives. Memorial services will be held at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church, 11612 Memorial Drive at 1pm Wednesday, Sept 30, 2009. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Bob's memory to Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church, 11612 Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77024.
