JULIE CURRY SUTTON, 62, passed away Saturday morning, October 17, 2009, from complications of a long battle with breast cancer. She was born Julia Ann Curry to Verna Adele Kirby and Ben Weldon Curry in Dallas, Texas on March 5, 1947. She attended Bellaire High School and The University of Texas and The University of Houston, where she majored in History. Julie was a lover of learning and her interests enlightened and enlivened those around her. She was an avid reader and enjoyed British and World War II history, as well as mystery novels. She loved nature, taking particular pleasure in birds and gardening. She was a sophisticated cook, and found inspiration in beautiful yarns and fabrics for knitting and quilting. Julie had beautiful taste in clothing and decor, and at each stage of her life expressed herself through her dress and home with subtlety and uniqueness. Julie loved classic cinema and knew much about Hollywood history.She also cherished Christmas time, and collected ornaments and traditional Christmas items from around the world. Julie was a longtime member of Lakewood Yacht Club with her husband. She was adventuresome in spirit as in mind, embracing new ventures with her husband and taking the challenges life presented her with perseverance and optimism. Julie is remembered for her depth of kindness and sweetness; her patience and resilience. She was a woman of continual consideration for others and sought to always make those around her happy, comfortable, and at ease. She is held close in the hearts of her family and friends.Julie is survived by her sister, Susan Adele Swift, her husband of 39 years, W.T. Sutton, Jr., her son, Coté Thomas Sutton and wife Deborah Freeman Sutton, her grandsons Justin Alexander Sutton and Wyatt Coté Sutton, her daughter Susan Elaine Sutton and husband Charles Jeffrey Williams, as well as extended family in Texas, New Mexico, and Oregon.A service in her memory will be held Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 3pm, at ChristChurch Presbyterian, 5001 Bellaire Blvd., Bellaire, Tx, 77401. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations, in memory of Julie Sutton, be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center, P.O. Box 4486, Houston, Texas 77210
