FREDERICK BERNHARDMACHOL, 94, went to be with the Lord on October 4, 2010. He was born on June 12, 1916 in Cleveland, Ohio.A member of the greatest generation, Fred served his country in WWII (European Theatre) in the 21st Field Artillery and CIC; retired LT. Col. and graduate of The Ohio State University (1938). Fred served on numerous boards and volunteered his time up until his passing.Fred was preceded in death by his wives Mary Louise Peyton Machol, Anne Prisel Machol, and son-in-law, Danny R. Weaver.He is survived by his 12 children, Katherine Zimmerman (Robert), JoAnn Shire, Deborah Stewart (Duncan) Mary Louise Skelton Frye (Chris), John (Kathy), Patricia Diehl (Ken), Ann Weaver, Peggy Machol-Bassett (Ron), Michael, Carole, Mary Hulburt (Richard), and Joseph (Verna); grandchildren, Matt Zimmerman, Mary Kay Cooper (Doug), Elizabeth Shire, Molly Gleim (Andy), Shad Harris (Carol), Seph Harris (Tiffany), Liz Meyerich (Dave), Thomas Machol, Daniel Skelton (Jillian), Briana Skelton, Kirsten Diehl, Jacob Diehl, Adam Diehl, Lauren Machol, Molly Machol, Andy Guinea, Chris Machol and Nick Machol; great-grandchildren, Grant, Zane, Mae Cooper, Liam, and Dean Skelton and Soren Harris.Visitation will begin on Wednesday, October 6, 2010, at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A Memorial Mass will take place on Thursday, October 7, 2010, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Paul Catholic Church, 18223 Point Lookout Drive, Nassau Bay, Texas, 77058.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Ohio State Alumni Association, (614) 292-2200; Houston Holocaust Museum (713) 942-8000; St. John Hospital Volunteer Service (Attn: Sue Rightly) 18300 St. John Drive, Nassau Bay, Texas 77058; Cornerstone Hospital (Chapel Pews) Attn: Administration Dept., 709 Medical Center Blvd., Webster, Texas 77598, (281)332-3322; or the charity of your choice.
