VERA ANN FLYNN passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on November 2, 2010 at the age of sixty-four.Vera leaves behind her devoted husband of thirty-six years, Barry Grattan Flynn, her loving mother Ann Bandura, her three sons who cherished her, Derek Grattan (and his wife Natane), Barrett Graham (and his wife Charlotte) and Jared Grattan as well as four beautiful grandchildren who loved their "Baba": Rylee Ann, Tanner Grattan, Camille Grace and Charlotte Rose. Vera was born to Victor and Ann Bandura on March 2, 1946 in a refugee camp in Kornberg, Germany. She came to the United States in 1949 with her parents and nothing else.She grew up in Chicago, Illinois, where she attended Wheaton College on a 4 year scholarship from Furnace Electric Company, and upon graduating, she worked as a teacher and for Campus Crusade for Christ ministry. Vera met Barry Flynn in Dallas, Texas, while they were both working for Campus Crusade for Christ. They were married on December 22, 1974 and eventually made their way to Houston, Texas where they raised their three sons in the Memorial Area. Vera lived her life boldly and fearlessly for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, whom she is with now. She poured herself into and cheerfully gave everything she had to her family and friends. Vera is still deeply loved by her family and will be forever remembered, treasured and missed for her outgoing personality, her strength of character, her strong convictions, her generosity, her selfless heart and the leadership and guidance she provided to everyone she met.There will be a visitation at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079, (281) 753-8654 on Sunday, November 7, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. Vera's truly full and wonderful life will be celebrated and honored at Bridgepoint Bible Church, 13277 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079-1409, (832) 448-1330 on Monday, November 8, 2010 at 11:00 a.m.
