Alan Long Obituary
Alan Richard Long, born April 1, 1916 in Algoma, Wisconsin and completed his Life in Houston, Texas on December 5, 2010. He is preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, June Marietia Long. Alan is survived by his devoted son John Alan Long. Mr. Long started his career in the Merchant Marines. During World War II he served as a LT. J.G in the U.S. Maritime Service. Following the war he joined Hartford Steam Boiler and remained with them until his retirement in 1983. Alan was a life member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2917 which allowed him to enjoy bowling, photography, and wood working. Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M.-9:00 P.M., on Tuesday, December 7th with a Vigil for Mr. Alan at 7:00 P.M. followed by a Rosary led by K.C. Council 2917. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 8th. Both services will be held at Brookside Chapel of Chimes. Interment will follow in Brookside Memorial Park.
