Louise Haines, 88, born in Houston, Texas on March 27, 1922, passed away on February 23, 2011.
She was a faithful servant of God and had a heart for serving others. She passionately served as a World War II army nurse and later taught nursing classes at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston. As an active member at Park Place United Methodist Church, she showed God's love to preschool children every Sunday morning as a volunteer for more than 40 years and also volunteered at American Red Cross for over 40 years.
Preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Ethel Haines and sisters Jean Haines, Betty Ferguson and Margie Harrell. Survived by her twin sister Lois Haines of Houston, Texas; her four nieces Betty Kimball of Arlington, Texas, and her husband Myron; Barbara Sinkovec of Sugar Land, Texas, and her husband Rolf; Brenda Stephens of Nacogdoches, Texas and her husband Gary; Laura Necessary and her husband Don; and many great nieces and nephews as well as great great nieces and nephews whom she loved showering with kisses.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 25, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 PM at SouthPark Funeral Home, 1310 North Main Street, Pearland, Texas. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held the following morning, Saturday, February 26 at 10:00 AM at Servants of Christ United Methodist Church, 3827 Broadway Street, Houston, Texas with the burial immediately following at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetary.
