Edna Bullock Obituary
Edna Frances Dunfield Bullock Beloved wife of Robert J. "Bob" Bullock went to join him in heaven on March 26, 2012. She was born in Lebo, Kansas on July 15, 1923 to Joseph W. and Irma Dunfield. She was the sister of the late Irmalee Duncan of Anthony, Kansas; Gerald and Frances Dunfield of McLouth, Kansas; Dorothy Overall of Portland, Oregon; and Thelma and Keith Bray of Silver Lake, Kansas.
Besides her sisters and brother, Edna is survived by her children: F. Jolene Andersen of Lawerence, Kansas; Elizabeth A. "Becky" Lott and husband Daryl of Houston, Texas; Jon R. Bullock and wife Patty of Colleyville, Texas; Mark W. Bullock and wife Paula of Pearland, Texas. Grandchildren include: Michelle and Zachary Andersen, Jennifer J. Swartwout, Bethany M. LeJune and husband Joel, Daniel R. French and wife Katie, Tim Lott, Katie Raney and husband Brian, Lara Bullock, Cheri Schneider and husband Mark, Nicole Robert and husband Sam, Brian Timm, Michelle Timm, Joey and Andy Bullock. Edna was the great grandmother of: Jack Robert and Jessica LeJune, Raven Andersen, Ashley Edna and Nathan Swartwout, Kaylyn Robert and R.J. French. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Edna was always a hard worker. Among her occupations: a harvest hand on her sister's farm during the 1930s, worker at her mother's boarding house during high school and college. She earned a Kansas Teacher's Certificate from Kansas State Teacher's College and was a secretary at Beechcraft in Wichita where she met the love of her life, Bob Bullock. She was a member of Zion Methodist Church, started the E-Z Nut Cup Company selling homemade party supplies, and in 1964 started a new career as a mother to four children. After moving to Shreveport, La., she volunteered for several organizations: the Girl Scouts and Club Scouts, the Welcome Wagon organizations, schools, carpools and as a member of Broadmoor Methodist Church where served as an MYF counselor.
After moving to Houston, Edna became a charter member of Covenant United Methodist Church, being the first president of the W.S.C.S., a Sunday School teacher, a choir member, a Board member, served on several committees, and organized the Mother's Day Out program. As the children got older, Edna went to real estate school and became a realtor and a volunteer for the Harris County Precinct 2 Senior Advisory Council. She was a member of the Meadow Brook Mavericks Square Dance Club, Young at Heart at Covenant, and member of the Searchlight Class and The Gathering at Pearland United Methodist Church.
Edna was a resident of Emeritus in Friendswood from 2008-2011 where she entertained everyone with her singing and sense of humor. Since January 2012, she has been living at Light Heart Memory Care.
A Visitation will be on Thursday, March 29, 2012 from 6pm to 8pm at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway Webster, TX. 77598. The Funeral Service will be Friday, March 30, 2012 at 10am, First United Methodist Church, 2314 North Grand Blvd Pearland, TX. 77581.
