Eugene Obert Obituary

Eugene Joe Obert, 90, Passed away peacefully in his sleep Sunday April 29, 2012 at his eldest son's (Douglas) home in Houston, Texas. He was born Jan. 8, 1922 to his parents Joseph M. Obert and Mary (Fitter) Obert near Apache, Oklahoma.
Eugene is survived by his 3 sons, Douglas, Dennis, Stephen and his daughter Judith Janson. He was blessed with 8 grandchildren: Kristina and Carolyn Janson; Nathan, Trevor and Heather Obert; Scott, Katy and Keith Obert.
After grade school at Boone Elementary and high school at Apache High, Eugene went 2 years to Cameron Jr. College in Lawton Oklahoma. Next he earned a B.S. degree from Oklahoma State University in 1943. After 2 years in the U.S. Navy he returned to OSU to earn his M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering. Following college he accepted a position with a predecessor company of Amoco Production Co. in Tulsa Oklahoma. He retired from Amoco in 1986 after 40 productive years with them.
Eugene was married to Lois Mae Clay of Muskogee, Oklahoma in Tulsa on Nov. 10, 1951. Lois passed away from cancer in 1995.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Edward Catholic Church on Saturday May 5, 2012 at 10:00 AM. The church is located at: 2601 Spring Stuebner Rd., Spring, Texas 77389. Ph. (281) 353-9774.
The internment of Eugene's ashes will be at Fairview Cemetery near Apache, Oklahoma later this summer.
