Beatrice Bradley Obituary
Beatrice H. Bradley, 92, quietly slipped away to join her loved ones in Heaven early Sunday morning, May 20, 2012. Beatrice was born on December 5, 1919, in McAlester, Oklahoma, the second child of Clarence Walter Hubbard and Ethel Hughes Hubbard. She is preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Bernice Ashley, Lorraine Scott, Fern Gaither and Henry Clarence ("Buddy") Hubbard; and by her infant son, Michael Allen Bradley. Beatrice is survived by her children, Jerry Kannard of Owasso, OK; Judy Williams (Scott) of Richmond, TX; and Bruce Bradley (Darlene) of Sugar Land, TX; grandchildren, Lance Kannard (Janice), Scott Kannard, Sean Kannard (Barb), Rana Jones (Rob), Desiree Bradley, Brittany Bradley, and Bethany Bradley; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great grandsons; sister-in-law, Vida Hubbard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Born into hard times and faced with many of life's challenges, Beatrice always put others before herself. She attended high school in Wewoka, OK, but quit to find work to help her parents. She was self-taught and held a variety of jobs over the years to support her family. Beatrice always made sure her children had what they needed. A resident of Houston for over 50 years, she retired from Rice Food Markets Central Office, accounting department. Over her lifetime, Beatrice was the caregiver for many of her family, friends and neighbors. She was a very special lady. Her unconditional love, wisdom, encouragement, generosity, resilience, beauty and faith have been an inspiration to us all. We will miss her dearly, love her always, and rest easy knowing she is in a better place.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012, in the Miller Funeral Chapel, 7723 Beechnut, Houston, TX. Pastor Leo Tyler of First United Methodist Church Westchase will officiate. There will be a visitation with the family one hour prior to the service, at 10:00 a.m. Serving as honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren. A reception will follow at a location to be announced at the service. In lieu of flowers, the family graciously suggests donations may be made to any charity benefitting children, animals or the elderly. Rest in peace, Mom! We "love you bunches" and know we will see you again someday. Condolences may be offered at www.millerfuneral.com
