Eddie Morris Obituary
Eddie Carnell Morris, 76, of Wheatland, Wyoming, died Friday, June 1, 2012 at University Hospital in Denver, Colorado. He was born October 15, 1935 in Houston, Texas and had lived in Wheatland for nine years. Eddie went to Smiley High School in Houston. After high school he went to work for Coca-Cola, then going to work as an inspector for the State of Texas and Moffat and Easley Engineering Company. He was a member and deacon at the 1st Christian Church in Wheatland, and the Masonic Lodge. Eddie drove the buses for the church and nursing home in Wheatland. He loved the outdoors and planting trees and flowers, and also playing dominoes and never missed a game of 42. He enjoyed music and dancing, and was a member of the Hi-Lo camping group. Eddie never met a stranger, loved to tell jokes, and his favorite colors were purple and red.
He is survived by his wife, Yvonne (West) Morris, whom he married April 22, 1995 at Bays Chapel in Richards, Texas; his mother, Christine Nixon of Huffman, Texas; five sons, Allen Morris of Houston, Donnie Morris of Houston, Dwayne Morris of Denton, Texas, Jody Morris of San Marcus, Texas, and Andrew Morris of Houston; three stepchildren, James Beaumont of Wichita, Kansas, Jannette Beaumont of Houston, and Patricia Kirby of Houston; a sister Margaret Irene Lewis of Huffman, Texas; a half-sister, Sharon Kay Morris of Houston; fifteen grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Eddie Morris.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at Bays Chapel in Richards, Texas. Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
