Ferris J. Renfro,
85, passed away November 17, 2012, with his family by his side.
He was born September 15, 1927, in Rusk County to the late Forrest Annie and Luther Paul Renfro and grew up with a love for his church, Bascom Assembly of God.
He was a 1944 honor graduate from Tyler High and continued his education with the Federal Business Institute while beginning his 40 year tenure as Senior Vice President of Tyler Bank and Trust and Republic Bank.
His second passion was real estate and he proved himself to be a very capable landlord over the years as well as helping people purchase their first vehicle or renting affordable housing.
Mr. Renfro made lots of friends during his years at the bank and cherished those relationships dearly throughout his life.
He was steadfast in his love, generous, caring, and a dedicated hard worker who gave 110% of himself to every project and wanted every day to be a productive day.
Our Dad leaves his son, Donald Renfro and wife Gail of Tyler; daughters, Donna Renfro Amis of Tyler and Kimberly Renfro Martin and husband, Scott of Houston. He also leaves granddaughters, Farrel Amis of Dallas, Margaret and Sarah Martin of Houston and grandson, Scott D. Martin, Jr. of Houston. He is also survived by his longtime companion, Coy Barrett of Tyler, loving sisters, Ruth Cross, Louise Griffin, Jean Sanders of Tyler, and brother, Albert Renfro and wife Ann of Texarkana, Texas.
He was preceded in death by siblings, Cavie Renfro, Grover Renfro, Madras Mitchell, and Paul Renfro.
Our family wishes to thank our friends with Visiting Angels; caregivers, Kathy, Donna, Terri, Kelly, and Richard for their gentle care and kindness.
