Anita Flo Krakower Rauch Kotlen, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend passed away on Wednesday, the 28th of November 2012, while surrounded by her family. She faced her illness with the immense bravery and spirit which carried her through every moment of her entire life. A woman of grace and elegance, Anita was born on the 18th of March 1929 in Houston, Texas, to Sadie and Herman Krakower. She attended San Jacinto High School, Highland Manor, UCLA and The University of Texas, making many life-long friends along the way.
Anita loved traveling the world with her husband, Arthur Kotlen, and they experienced innumerable adventures in their wonderful life together. She was a very generous woman, contributing her time, energy and resources to numerous charitable causes and organizations. She was also selfless in being there for any family member or friend throughout her lifetime, attending every good occasion she could, as well as consoling anyone in need.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Sadie and Herman Krakower and her sister, Renee Krakower Siegel. She is survived by her loving husband, Arthur Kotlen, her cherished children, Ronald and Carol Rauch and Bobby and Ann Rauch; her grandchildren, Dr. Greg Rauch, Kelly Rauch, Stacey and Travis Lenig, and Karly Rauch; her children Melanie and Leslie Schwartzberg, Michael Kotlen and Risa and David Streusand and grandchildren, Gail Schwartzberg, Caren and Louis Schwartzberg, Lauren and Joe Kitch, Molly and Joel Rabinovitz, Evan Streusand, Abby and Gabe Greenberg, and Jenna Streusand; many special nieces and nephews, including Cindy and Ron Eagle and family and Brad and Doreen Siegel, and special cousins Raymond and Barbara Kalmans.
The family gratefully thanks Betty Joe McKelvey for her many years of loving devotion to our family. We are also grateful for the tender loving care of Jennifer, Kitty, Sharon, Irma Jean, Thelma, Stephanie, and Alesia, and Houston Hospice, as well.
The memorial service is to be conducted at half-past noon on Friday, the 30th of November, in The Barish Sanctuary of Congregation Emanu El, 1500 Sunset Boulevard in Houston, where Roy A.
