DAVID ALEXANDER GORDON, JR. of Houston passed away Dec. 21, 2012. He was born Sept. 17, 1955, at Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City, LA to David A. Gordon, Sr. and Marietta (Bryant Gordon) McGee. Raised by his mother and stepfather Rufus L McGee, he attended Sterling and San Jacinto high schools in Houston, TX and later earned his GED. At 18, he joined the Navy and was later honorably discharged. He worked at Hughes Tool Co. in Houston for 2 years, and later moved to Seattle, where he lived for over 30 years. He graduated from Seattle's Washington Inst. of Technology, where he learned to build computers. A devout Buddhist since his teens, David was a long-time member of Soka Gakkai Int'l (SGI)-USA Seattle Buddhist Center. He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Marietta McGee; his daughter, Kimberly Carter; his grandchildren, Josiah and Kristopher Williams; his sisters Christine McGee and Carol McGee Anthony; his brother-in-law, Willard "Kwame" Anthony II, and his cousins Virginia, Velena, and Valerie Bryant. He was predeceased by his stepfather Rufus L McGee. The service will be held on Mon., Dec. 31, 2012 at 2:30 PM at Houston Nat. Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038.
