Betty Harrison Obituary

Betty J. Harrison, 79, of Houston passed away peacefully August 4, 2013. She was born April 10, 1934 in Abilene, Texas, though lived her childhood in Baytown, Texas. Bet graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and proudly played drums in the Lee Brigadiers Drum and Bugle Corps. As an adult, Bet became a very successful insurance agent, earning numerous awards throughout her career. She was a beautiful, feisty and determined woman. Bet lived life to the fullest and she fought her disease until the very end. Bet is preceded in death by her parents, S. R. "Red" Odom and Grace Odom Enderli. She is survived by her daughter, Jerilyn Calvert and husband Craig; son, Jay Paul Jones; brothers, John Odom and wife Carolyn, and Daniel Odom and wife Cindi; grandchildren, Geoffrey and Jacob Calvert and Shauna Jones and her great grandson, Kash Robert. If you wish to make a memorial donation, please consider Vitas Hospice Community Connection (vitas.com/community) or The National Parkinson Foundation (parkinson.org). Visitation will be from 10:00am to 11:00am, August 10, 2013 at Woodlawn Funeral Home on Antoine Drive in Houston. A graveside service will follow at Woodlawn Garden of Memories.
