Rehfield, 73, of Arlington, TX passed from this life at his home on September 27, 2013. He was born in Houston, TX on November 23, 1939. After a period of time in the United States Coast Guard, he attended the University of Houston, graduating in 1965 with a BSME and later an MBA.
Fred worked in the natural gas industry after graduating for several large gas companies - United Gas and HNG Corp. His specialty was energy use and conservation. In later years he worked for several large Engineering and Construction firms in the DFW area. Upon retiring from his own company, he became a commercial building inspector for the City of Burleson until his 2nd retirement in 2011. He held numerous licenses including 9 ICC certifications, Mechanical Contractor License and a State Plumbing Inspectors License. He was a registered Mechanical Engineer and a Life Member of ASHRAE.
He was very active and loved the outdoors and liked to jog, play tennis, ski and other outdoor sports. The mountains of New Mexico were one of his favorite places.
Fred is survived by his son, Derek Rehfield and wife Brandy; grandchildren, Brendan and Kyla; lifelong friend, Tawanna Rehfield; sister, Darlene Kay and husband Tommy; Niece, Rita Mae Meaux; nephews, Don Kelly, Mark Kelly, Shaun Kelly, and Greg Kay; also Michelle Kay and daughters Abby and Taylor; and good friend, Jo E. Sikes.
The family wishes to thank the many friends who supported Fred throughout his medical problems and his entire life.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at First Presbyterian Church, Arlington, TX (where Fred was a member) located at 1200 South Collins, Arlington, TX 76010 at 4 PM on October 5, 2013. A Life Celebration dinner will follow.
