Memorial services for Joyce L. Sprague, of Locust Valley, New York, Killeen and Houston, Texas are 10:30 am Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen.
Mrs. Sprague passed away on October 27, 2013 of natural causes at age 88.
Beloved mother of Wes (Sue), Scott (Beverly), Larry (Debbie), and Dee. Dear sister of Doris Jean Pennington. Cherished grandmother of Morgan, Landon, Lindsay, Matthew, Jake, Amy and Emily.
Arrangements and cremation entrusted to Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen followed by a graveside service at 1:30 pm Austin Memorial Cemetery in Austin, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the American Cancer Society is appreciated.

While I was associate pastor at FUMC Killeen, Joyce and I would exchange hugs each Sunday morning. I admired her for many things including her stamina, her tenacity, her positive outlook, and her deep faith that God was with her every step of her life's journey. Aunt Joyce was such a sweet lady. She always seemed genuinely happy to see me and my family when we came to Texas for a visit. I know she is in a beautiful place right now in her perfect body with no problems or pain. Love you Aunt Joyce. Till we meet again!

Joyce and I became friends at First United Methodist Church in Killeen many years ago. We sat together every Sunday and exchanged stories of families and the many places we both had lived. Joyce was very proud of her sons and loved it when one would visit. Although I missed her when she moved to Houston, at least we were still able to communicate on a daily basis. There is no doubt she is visiting with Jesus right now with her own sweet voice. Mary Pinson
