Donald Dalrymple Obituary

DONALD H. DALRYMPLE, 83, passed away, with his daughters by his side, on 2/26/2006 in Houston, TX. He is preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Margaret J. (Peggy) Dalrymple, and his son-in-law, Fred Robertson. He is survived by his daughters, Debra Robertson and Laurel Johnson, son-in-law Richard Johnson, five much loved grandchildren and his younger brother, Forrest Dalrymple. Don was well respected in his 31 years with Shell Oil and served as an expert on numerous API task forces. His proudest service, however, was to his country as a B-17 navigator, flying 31 missions during WWII. A memorial service will be held at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, 3/1/2006, at 3:00P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the charity of your choice.

Our deepest condolences to all of your family. Our fathers flew together with the 390th Bombgroup stationed in Framlingham, England during WWII. Your Dad was the navigator for Capt. Carl Nesbitt and my Dad was the ball-turret gunner of the crew. Your Dad left the crew to become a navigator for the "Pathfinders" according to my Dad. Dad and crew of Yankee Doodle Dandy were shot down shortly afterwards over Leipzig Germany on 29 May 1944. We are longtime friends of another crewman Lester Miller's family from Michigan. Sadly, with the passing of our Dad in January 2016 all of the crew members are gone. Would love to connect with you to discuss our greatest generation "Dads".
