Paula Nussbaum Obituary

Paula Nussbaum 88, born, December 5, 1925 in New York passed away peacefully in her home last evening March 28, 2014. She is survived by her two children Barbara Carmichael, Michael Nussbaum and six grandchildren. Barbara and Bill Carmichael and their children Emily and Jacob, Michael and Mariana Nussbaum and their children Matthew, David, Claire and Adam mourn the loss of Paula and will be paying their last respects on Sunday at 5:00pm at Beth Israel Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
Paula has been a 59 year resident of Houston and devoted wife of Sam (New York 1919-2004) with whom she owned a successful business, Chem-Oil Equipment. Remarkably, she was able to combine the characteristics of a strong, determined and yet sensitive and loving wife, mother and friend. Paula lived a life filled with love which she shared with her husband Sam until his death in 2004. This blessing of love has been kept alive through her children and grandchildren. They were both actively involved members of the Houston Jewish community as members of Brith Shalom and later at Beth Israel Synagogues. As a family we appreciate the spiritual guidance and friendship of Rabbis Cahana, and Karff. Marilyn Ladin Cantor, has been and continues to be a cherished friend and important connection to our Jewish faith. In lieu of flowers you may make contributions to Jewish Family Service.
