My condolences to Ronda and Cleotha and Allen Jr. and the family. We've been friends for decades, since the years in Toronto, when Allen Ray played for the Argos. It was so long ago but our friendship has endured. Allen Ray loved his children and grandchildren and I kniw they will miss him too. He will always be remembered.

Dear Aldridge Family,

I am a voice from Allen Ray's Canadian Football League past when he played with me as a rookie for the Toronto Argonauts. Allen Ray and I were room-mates on the road trips - he a rookie Linebacker, I a rookie wide receiver.
I have fond memories of our hectic times together and remember him always as a sweet and thoughtful man. We were both very young and wide-eyed, from vastly different background and, for some strange reason, hit it off very well.

I send my condolences to the family and think fondly of my long time ago friend, Allen Ray.

With kind regards,
Michael (Mike) Eben Toronto Argonauts of the CFL 1968 - 1977

A true gentleman, an esteemed co-worker at Pershing Middle School and a man of his word who was a joy to know. He blessed many lives with his kindness and helpful nature. I am grateful to have known him.

To the Aldridge family,

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this most difficult time. Coach Aldridge was one of the most sincere guys I ever knew. I worked with him for 19 years and he always came to work with some kind of sports trivia that made the work day or week so interesting. He had a way of reaching the kids that I had never experienced prior to meeting him. He made us all better and he will never be forgotten by me.

Coach Aldridge was a mentor and a loyal friend. I could always count on him for sound advice. Our years at Pershing were some of the best of my life. He had a positive impact on so many lives. He taught valuable lessons with a smile on his face. He started each season off saying "world peace does not depend on our won/loss record, I'd rather lose with a bunch of good guys than win with a bunch of jerks". My heart goes out to his family and friends. We are all better for having known him.
