William Sharkey Obituary

William T. Sharkey
1944-2017
William Thomas (Bill) Sharkey, CPA, passed away unexpectedly on March 5, 2017. He was born May 26, 1944, in Dayton, Ohio and was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and John Sharkey.
Bill is survived by Rosalie, his loving wife of 37 years; his two daughters, Brenna Sharkey and Kathryn Anne and her husband Ashley Hicks; sister, Ann and husband Donald Fender. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins from the Sharkey and Solís families as well as many friends he held dear.
Bill was honored to have served our country in the US Army and he was very proud to call The Ohio State University his alma mater. He remained a loyal Buckeye fan until the end. In the last few years he became involved with Houston Children's Charity and cherished serving as Santa Claus for the annual Children's Christmas party. Bill was a lifelong Christian and a member of Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church where he served as Treasurer. Bill was blessed with a generous spirit, an infectious smile and a genuine heart of gold. But it was his incredible, quirky sense of humor that endeared him to so many who will miss him dearly. "To live in the hearts we leave behind is not to die."
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church, 11612 Memorial Drive, Houston, TX. There will be a reception in the church parlor immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 6055 South Loop East, Houston TX 77087 or to the charity of your choice. Rosie, I was very saddened to hear of Bill's untimely demise...please accept my heartfelt condolences. What I remember most about him was his devotion to family and his sense of humor...particularly his Grouch Marx impersonation with a cigar.

I will miss his friendship !

Please do not hesitate to call if I can be of help.
